Reflection

I received more than an education leaving this class. I gained new friends, abilities, ideas, and perspectives. It was an experience where I will leave knowing I gained something. What I liked most about the class was our class discussions. Whether it was fishbowl or just a class lecture, we constantly got to hear everybody's questions and thoughts. I gained new perspectives from hearing peoples opinions. It helped me think outside of the box and realize things maybe I hadn't thought of before. I met people in the class who I had things in common with. I was able to relate to many people. I was also able to gain new insight even from the people who I didn't relate with. The class blog was a great way to share our ideas as well. Reading my classmates published writing sparked new ideas in my head and inspired me. I got to see how intelligent my classmates are. I liked the feeling of the whole class learning together.
Just from this class I became a better reader and writer than I was last semester. I learned how to analyze instead of just comprehend. We would read things then pick them a part until we were able to get a better understanding of it. I am now a deeper thinker which helped my writing as well. I’m better at organizing my thoughts on a paper. I also know how to properly write and cite formal papers if I ever need to for school or a job in the future.
I feel more then prepared going into the future as a writer. I am more confident with both my reading and writing skills. The reading and writing techniques I've learned have become natural to me. Wherever I go in the future, I learned how important being a strong reader and writer is. Having that quality will benefit you in many different job fields. This class helped me gain a joy for writing. I aspire to have a career in the future where I can travel and write. I want to be successful in life and to be able to do that you need to be a good reader and writer. Being able to be educated is a privilege therefore I'm taking what I'm learning and applying it to my life to benefit me.
